Peter Sobiloff
Peter Sobiloff
Chairman and MD with Insight Venture Partners

Peter joined the board of Fenergo in August 2015. Having joined Insight as Managing Director in 1998, Peter currently serves on the board of directors at Achieve3000, DrillingInfo, Fenergo, Filmtrack, Kinnser Software, Kony Solutions, Syncsort, Mediaspectrum, Planview and Workforce Software. He is a well-known executive in the software industry and regularly speaks on industry panels.

Prior to Insight, Peter was President of Think Systems, an Insight portfolio company focused on supply chain management, which was acquired by i2 Technologies, thereafter serving as Vice President of Business Development at i2 Technologies. He was also President of Datalogix, a vendor of enterprise application software for process manufacturers, and has held senior executive roles at Ross Systems, a provider of financial application software. Peter was part of the management teams that executed IPOs for both companies. Subsequently, as President of Datalogix, Peter led the sale of Datalogix to Oracle Corporation.

Founder and CEO, Marc is responsible for Fenergo’s business operational strategy and corporate direction. With 18 years’ experience developing, selling and delivering enterprise financial technology to global banks, Marc has developed a proven track record of building successful business-winning and leadership teams. In 2015, he led an $85m funding round with Insight Venture Partners and Aquiline Capital Partners, marking the second fundraising effort for the company. 

In 2013, Fenergo secured €4m funding from Investec Ventures Ireland Limited. The latest round of fundraising enables Fenergo to create a platform for global growth that will see it capitalize on the growing demand being created by an ever-evolving financial regulations market. Marc was recently named a Fintech 100 Most Influential Leader in recognition of the impact that Fenergo’s technology is having on the way financial institutions manage their compliance obligations and operational requirements. Marc is a software engineering and MBA graduate of Dublin City University

Paul Kerley

Director

Paul Kerley is an entrepreneur and investor. Paul served as the CEO of Norkom Technologies, a global financial crime and compliance solutions provider, from its inception in 1998. He took the award-winning company public in 2006, following a successful IPO. Norkom was also ranked on the Global FinTech 100 listing of the world’s top financial technology firms and won critical acclaim from global analysts and industry publications. It was acquired by BAE Systems for €217 million in 2011. 

Paul currently serves on the boards of a number of technology companies including Non-Executive Chairman of SmartBin and Non-Executive Director of MindConnex Learning. Paul was named the Technology Person of the Year by the Irish Software Association (ISA) in 2009 and Ernst & Young’s Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year back in 2000. He is a graduate of Dublin City University.

Cian Cotter

Non-Executive Director

Cian joined the Fenergo board in 2015. He currently leads Insight’s capital markets activities, having joined the firm in 2003. Cian focuses on creating strategic outcomes for Insight's portfolio companies including IPO preparation and execution, recapitalizations and M&A advisory. He leads Insight's relationships with strategic acquirers in the software and Internet sectors and helps strengthen corporate and business development activities on behalf of Insight's portfolio companies.

During Cian's tenure at the firm, six of Insight's portfolio companies have achieved an IPO. Prior to joining Insight, Cian was a Product Marketing Manager with Canon, Inc. and a Product Strategy Manager with Cable & Wireless, plc. Cian has a BBS from the University of Limerick, Ireland and an MBA from HEC, France.

Matt Gatto

Non-Executive Director

Matt Gatto joined the board of Fenergo in 2015. As a Senior Associate with Insight, Matt focuses on high-growth software and SaaS businesses across infrastructure, healthcare and enterprise applications, and has experience with leveraged buyouts. Matt has worked with Insight's investments in AirWatch, Cherwell Software, Kinnser Software, Shopify and Zumba Fitness, and works with a number of other infrastructure and software/SaaS portfolio companies.

Prior to Insight, Matt’s career included online advertising optimization at Verizon Information Services, debt restructuring and issuance at Deutsche Bank Asia, and electronic communications risk management at Merrill Lynch. Matt graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School. 

Igno Van Waesberghe

Non-Executive Director

Igno joined the board of Fenergo in 2017 and is a Partner with Aquiline Capital. Financial Technology and Services Group. In addition to Fenergo, Igno serves on the boards of BI-SAM Technologies SA; Equity Red Start DGB Ltd.; and Simply Business.

Prior to joining Aquiline, Igno was a vice president with Deutsche Bank’s Benelux corporate finance team. Previously he was an associate and analyst in the European financial institutions group at J.P. Morgan in London. Igno graduated from the Erasmus University Rotterdam with a LL.M. in (International) Tax Law. 

Spencer Lake

Vice Chairman

Spencer joined the Fenergo board in 2017, having spent 29 years in investment banking. Most recently, he was Vice Chairman of HSBC Global Banking & Markets.  During his decade-long tenure with HSBC, Spencer held several global senior roles in HSBC in areas such as running Debt Capital Markets and Acquisition Finance for four years; Global Markets (including FICC, equities and research) for three years; and Capital Financing (structured and unstructured lending, financing and investment banking products) for three years. Prior to HSBC, Spencer spent 17 years in Merrill Lynch in senior roles spanning real estate finance, investment banking, and debt capital markets across New York, Hong Kong and London. Before Merrill Lynch, Spencer worked for two years at JP Morgan in real estate investment banking. 

In addition to Fenergo, Spencer currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the International Capital Market Association, having been a member since 2011, and is helping a few other small companies in their growth strategies. 

Spencer holds a B.A. in International Finance and Marketing from Suffolk University, Massachusetts and an M.B.A. from New York University's Stern School of Business.
